“Sit quietly and listen”

Nicole was given the opportunity to play Division I and II collegiate volleyball as a scholarship athlete which led to many first hand experiences with rehabilitation of injuries and interest in physical therapy. Upon receiving her physical therapy degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts she moved back to Colorado to pursue her PT career and founded Kinetic Energy Physical Therapy PC in 1997 along with her husband Marco Rabanal.

Education and Certifications:

Nicole originally trained extensively with the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMPT). Certifications include Intramuscular Manual Therapy also known as Functional Dry Needling (FDN), Kinesio Taping with KTAI, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NATA 1994-2017. Special interest and training include, MLS Class 4 Cold Laser treatment, Real Time Ultrasound Imaging (RTUI) for functional local vs global muscle motor control/functional movement training, cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) leak and Eagles Syndrome management, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, POTS/OI, and  concussion rehab.

Community Outreach:

Community involvement for Nicole has included organization of a local multidisciplinary healthcare provider group for collaborative management of the concussion population in Steamboat, development of a Sports Metrics based injury prevention program for the Steamboat girls U13 soccer team and participation with the Holy Name Pastoral Parish Council, Healing Team and youth group.

Personal Interests:

Love for the outdoors and serving others have long been an inspiration for Nicole. Time spent skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking and rafting with her family are priceless. Nicole and Marco are blessed with two children and are incredibly grateful to call this little slice of paradise home.
